100 Things

Being bored and in the mood to post, I'm going to do my one hundred facts about Jessica :) Here it goes...

1. My middle name comes from my moms' middle name: Betty Jean
2. I love South Park and have every season on DVD
3. I have had the same set of friends since elementary school and we still keep in touch
4. I want 4 kids and Kerby wants 3
5. I was born in Henderson, NV on June 10, 1984
6. My favorite meal is breakfast
7. I hate TV, it wastes time
8. I love to quilt
9. I haven't scrapbooked since I got married (my stuff is in storage) and HATE it
10. I hate canned mushrooms
11. Disneyland is probably the best vacation hands down
12. I have all my future children names picked out and Kerby picked them out (one is still up for debate though...)
13. Kerby loves cats and I love dogs, hence.... we have a problem
14. My parents were born on the exact same day: May 10, 1961 (my dad was a couple hours earlier than my mom)

Camping Maniacs

So as most of you know we were able to take a camping trip from Saturday July 19 to Sunday July 27. That's right, a week long camping adventure!! It was so great to get away from everything LAME here in the real world. We had a blast!! The first five days were spent on Cedar Mountain on Kerby's families land. It was great to be free to do whatever; ride four-wheelers on random trails to fun places, take little car rides to look at all the fun little mountain towns, eat tons of delicious Dutch Oven food, play cards (my fav), read Harry Potter (again), and just chillax with my hubby.

When Thursday rolled around, we packed up once again and traveled a little more north to the annual Fish Lake trip with the Dastrup family. I think this one trip we will be taking every year till we're dead :) We go up once a year around Gerricks' Birthday and just have a blast with our friends. After being alone with each other for five days it was good to talk and hang out with a couple other people :) HAHA!!! We slept the whole time in a tent, but thnaks to our fabulous cots, we were able to stay sane. But all and all our trip was sweet, maybe just a little long, but still sweet. I think next year it'll be broken up into two weekends :)

whole lotta nothing

Well... The 4th of July was pretty un-eventful. The whole weekend of the holiday was pretty much spent up at the house constructing a fence around the 18 acres. It was a Cedar post fence that needed post holes dug and filled. Kerby spent the whole day working on the fence and we had only left later that day to have a BBQ at my mom's house. It was good to be with that family and hang out but Kerby was so tired from all the days work that we just went home so he could sleep.

And this is the nasty aftermath of the work done. Kerby was sunburnt in the most "farmer" way possible. On the arms from the shirt sleeve down and from the neck up :) He had a wicked blister on the back of his neck from the sun. Ouch...

Boring...

So things have been pretty boring here at the Leany residence... Granted our days are filled with work and the usual normal stuff that everyone else does; i.e. the bank, Costco, WalMart, the dentist (again), the post office, Cafe Rio, Costco again, the gas station, etc, etc, etc.... But I've come to the realization that I need more excitement in my life. Don't get me wrong, Guitar Hero 3, South Park, Whose Line is it Anyway, Call of Duty 4, Family Guy, ATHF, are all great but I need more.
So we're going to take a week long camping trip!!!
I KNOW... We like the out doors way too much but not the normal out doors that everyone else seems to like (i.e. the lake). We're mountain people. Kerby's a cowboy and I was raised to like dirt, so it works. We plan on starting this adventure Friday the 18th of July and ending Sunday July 27th. First Cedar Mountain with the Mackelprangs and then to Fish Lake with the Dastrup family. Its going to be great!!! I plan on taking lots of pictures so you'll get to witness all our shenanigans first hand. BE EXCITED!!!

P.S. As an update: Kerby finally quit the black hole that is Parts Plus and will hopefully have his licenses and new flight school squared away so he can get back in the pilots seat. I recently went to a Mammography Conference in Las Vegas for a week and learned all that there is to know about breasts and breast imaging.... yay.... So hopefully that means second modality which means more $money$ (not that I'm greedy or anything) And Franklin the cat is great, slightly homosexual but still really cute.

Camping on Cedar Mountain

This past weekend Kerby and I went up to Cedar mountain and hung out with all his family and went camping!!! We LOVE camping and LOVE the mountains!!!

Riding four wheelers, laying in a hammock, making dutch oven, sitting by the fire, does it get any better? I'm hoping that this summer we're able to go up every other weekend but who knows with all the gas prices and stuff. Hopefully though!!!

New Obsession

This is a video my friend Justin sent me and I have become obsessed with these guys now :) They're called the "Flight of the Conchords" and there's a ton of videos that they've made and I pretty much love them all. So enjoy :)

Franklin

This is our cat Franklin, we've had him for about seven months and at first I didn't want him but he is growing on me :) But one of the funniest things he does is watch TV. He sits and watches with us all the time and even follows when the images move and stuff, its hilarious!! I'm trying really hard to get a video of Franklin and, the other cat, Shadow fighting cause that is even better. But yeah this video is pretty boring, I don't even recommend watching it. I really was just wondering if the videos I take on our camera will work on here.

Oh and thats our sweet basement apartment :) I hope you are able to see the awesome couches.

Still don't quite understand...

So I was just playing with this blog thing and I picked out a new layout at Pyzam.com and put it in the thingy and saved it. Well, it deleted my friends spot and my music player.... I don't get why or how but yeah... I'm pissed. I fixed my friends spot but i'm not doing the music player again. It sucked anyways... But needless to say I still don't know what the "H" I'm doing :)

Other than that and Kerby's teeth, nothing too exciting at the Leany house.

Fun Times on Mother's Day!!

So this weekend was full of fun family activities!! On Saturday May 10th my mom and dad shared there 47th birthday, yes they were born on the same day, and we as a family went out to dinner and then watched a movie and had ice cream at Jeremy and Jenny's house. It was alot of fun!!! I miss my family and love any chance I get to hang out with them!!

For Mother's day the Miller/Mackelprang side of the family always have an annual bar-b-que out in Leeds at the Peach-Pit Pavillion :) It was great to see all the mothers and grand mothers and great grand mothers at the bar-b-que!! I love Kerby's side of the family and we all always have a good time!!

So far, so good...

Saturday May 3 was our 6 month mark as a married couple!! Woo hoo!! So to have a little fun we went to dinner and a movie (surprise...) and ate the top of our cake. My mom kept the top in her freezer and wanted it gone. Plus everyone that had a comment about the whole cake top tradition said to eat it after 6 months cause a year is just gross. And they were right, our pumpkin spice chocolate chip cake was still really good. And as for marriage and our first year, things are sweet. :)

Ear Infections and Bike Rides

So nothing to exciting has been happening at the Leany house. We went on an intense bike ride on Sunday April 27. We rode from my parents house, over by Pine View Middle School, down to the Dastrups house, over in Bloomington. It was about 8 miles across town... Really crazy huh?

Then this week has been the sick week. Kerby has an ear infection in his left ear and we spent most of Wednesday at the Instacare getting ear drops. Oh what fun!! :) But everything else is just the same old same old. Hopefully sometime soon Kerby will be back in flight school and our lives will be more exciting!!

Trying to Figure All This Out...

So, this is my first post thingy... I don't know what I'm doing and even if there is anyone else I know to talk to besides Becky Seymour :) but I like the idea!!! I hope I can figure this all out to make it cute and what not but it'll be a while....
